House Mouse is dead!
In Breaking News, I am pleased to report HOUSE MOUSE IS DEAD!!
House Mouse has been on the lam for a couple of weeks now, living the life of Riley in the kitchen (I know, I know, — ughhh). And then House Mouse went MIA for a few days and we thought, “golly, maybe House Mouse died!”
Nope. House Mouse reappeared tonight.
Ginger heard that faintest rustle and saw the tiniest bit of motion, and let me tell you, it was ALL OVER. She was like a pointer on a grouse, holy smokes! I picked her up and placed her next to the coffee pot, and seriously, it took like 3 minutes, and she had him. Bwahahahaha! That little cat has got some amazing skillz!!
However, given that we have already established her knack for catch-and-release (she hasn’t figured out to put her foot on the critter before letting go to re-bite) I cornered the poor cat and stepped on the mouse’s head. (Sorry, don’t mean to be gross.) The cat growled. A lot. She got really mad I was messing with her mousie, yikes!! But it was quick and effective. House Mouse died. No more Free Willy repeats. :)

Race is over… WOW! Awesome action! Way to lay it out there boys… man that was fun. Well, Webber, Hamilton & Vettel might not think it was very fun… ;) Top 3 didn’t change in the last 8 laps. Podium is (1) Button; (2) Kubica; and (3) Massa.
I am psyched for Massa. After what he has been through in the last year, I am so glad to see him doing well! He deserves every bit of it! It is wonderful to see great things happening for someone who’s been through an incredibly hard time. :)
Read MoreTorqued up! about Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution
Last night was the premier of Jamie Oliver’s Food Revolution on ABC. I have such a mish-mash of emotions and thoughts and reactions, I’m going to be posting about it for days. I can’t possibly even touch on everything in one post. This show completely smacked me upside the head!
The basic premise is that famous chef Jamie Oliver leaves his wife and children at home in England, and comes over to the US (for several months??) to try to improve the eating habits, and therefore the health, of the residents of Huntington, West Virginia. According to the CDC, Huntington is the most obese city in the world. In the world!! And obviously, the problem originates with what they’re putting in their mouths.
During Jamie’s initial week at the grade school, while trying to affect food changes at the school lunch program (which any American knows, “good luck with that”) supposedly Jamie was interviewed by English media, and some of his statements were taken out of context. Personalities flared, antennas got bent, feelings got hurt, fill in the blanks.
But here is the thing.
Huntington, being called “anemic” is NOT a slam. It does not mean “ignorant and stupid.”
Read MoreWhy can’t I be happy with a theme?
So now that a few days have passed and I’ve visited this site a few times, guess what… I don’t like using this theme (Minyx Pro 2) for this site. *sigh* Oh, there’s nothing wrong with the theme. It’s a fabulous theme. I love it!! But it’s not right for me, for my personal site.
The only reason I dumped my original theme was because it didn’t wrap around photos. That was the ONLY reason. I liked it very much other than that. (Well, red isn’t really my color, but it didn’t bother me enough to change it.)
So I’m going to reactivate the original theme (LOL!) and will mess with the CSS to fix the photo problem when I have time. Which is not going to be during the daytime today because it’s crazy-nice out (59°F in northern Wisconsin on March 16th? Hello???) and I am DETERMINED to get the hell out of the house and do something — anything! — outside. Preferably birding. ##
————— UPDATED —————
We’re back on the “old” theme now… just ‘splainin for those who missed the blog schizophrenia of the past week and don’t see anything different! :)
