‘Featured Link’ plugin = Custom Style?

After zero suggestions here, on Facebook & via Twitter, I had to go back to the drawing board on this one.

I decided the best way to handle it is probably going to be through some wonky custom style. I think a child theme (page) might be too much… maybe… I still can’t figure out how to make the ‘style’ pull the first 150 characters & a thumbnail image from the source page though. See, ‘cuz I’m not a coder. I’m the idea person, I’m not the doer person.

So maybe I need a grouping of styles that allows me to manually enter/paste the title, URL, a thumbnail image & the synopsis from the target page.

Worst-case scenario I could always use the Share on FB tool [you might need to clean that URL for your own use; I'm just the copy/paster here] to create the content, then grab a screenshot of it and post the screenshot. Man, that would be a tacky-ass hack! LOL!!

While I’m here, I suppose I should hop over to dooce and see how John has coded Twitter quotes. I wonder if they are screengrabs? Wouldn’t that be funny. Well at least I wouldn’t feel like such a cheap hack then… Heh. :)
